Why Do Copper Bracelets with the Same Design Have Different Wholesale Prices?
Why do similar copper bracelets have different wholesale prices? A real buyer case compares material, antique copper color, magnets, workmanship and samples.

Why Do Copper Bracelets with the Same Design Have Different Wholesale Prices?
“Why is one quote almost twice as high when the bracelets look the same?”
A photo can show the design, but it cannot confirm that two bracelets use the same material, finish, magnets, size or workmanship. I saw this in a real wholesale inquiry.
A customer compared two quotes for the same copper bracelet
The customer sent me a bracelet photo and asked for a price for 200 pieces. I looked closely and recognized it as our style CB014AC-ALL-215.
The product details are:
- Material: 99.9% pure red copper
- Color: Antique Copper
- Magnetic elements: 12 magnets
- Size: 215 × 8 × 4 mm

For that order, I quoted USD 6.30 per piece for 200 pieces.
The customer replied, “Wow, your price is way too high. It’s almost double the other quote.”
I asked if they would be comfortable sharing the approximate price. They told me the other supplier had quoted USD 3.20 per piece.
Based on our experience with this type of bracelet, I suspected the lower-priced one might be an alloy with an antique copper-colored surface coating. I explained that if the color comes from a surface coating, wear may eventually expose the material underneath.
I didn’t want the customer to rely on my opinion alone, so I suggested comparing samples from both suppliers.
What did the customer find when comparing the samples?
The customer checked the two samples side by side:
- They looked at a cut section. Our sample showed red copper through the bracelet. The lower-priced sample showed a different alloy underneath the surface color.
- They scratched the surface. The exposed area on our sample remained red copper. On the other sample, the antique copper-colored layer came off and revealed the alloy beneath.
- They compared the weight. Our solid copper bracelet felt heavier than the alloy sample.
- They checked the workmanship. They looked at whether the clasp edges were rounded, the pins were aligned, the magnets were covered, the glue was neat, and the polishing left no sharp edges.
After comparing the samples themselves, the customer placed the order with us. They were looking for a solid pure copper bracelet.
This was one customer’s comparison, not a rule about every lower-priced offer. In this case, checking the actual samples showed that the two bracelets had different materials and workmanship.
Why can two similar copper bracelets have different prices?
The material is one important part of the quote, but buyers should also compare the details that may not show in a photo:
- Whether the bracelet is solid red copper or another base material with a copper-colored surface
- The bracelet’s dimensions and weight
- The number and construction of the magnets
- The clasp, pins, magnet covers, polishing and edge finishing
- The quantity per style and price tier
- Packaging, shipping and any import charges
Ask the supplier to confirm the exact product specifications in writing. If you are comparing the total cost, make sure the quantity, packaging and shipping terms are also the same.
Can I confirm copper content by scratching or cutting a sample?
These checks can reveal visible differences between two samples, such as a different base material beneath a surface color. They do not, by themselves, confirm an exact copper percentage. If you need to verify the stated copper content, ask the supplier what relevant material documentation or testing is available.

If you are comparing copper bracelet suppliers, you can send us the product photo or style number, the quantity you need and your delivery country. We can check the specifications and prepare a wholesale quotation for you. Prices depend on the exact style and order details, so please confirm the current quote before ordering.
